plain language

how ai is used.

Sheboyggin uses a little AI to make a few things possible — reading stories aloud, shaping some public text, and guiding life-chapter reflections. Here's exactly where, in plain language.

  • Reading stories aloud

the broadcast player on story pages

Your browser's built-in speech synthesis voices stories on demand. This runs on your own device — no audio is sent anywhere, and there is no third-party voice API. (We used to use ElevenLabs; we moved to browser-native speech so nothing leaves your device.)

  • Helping shape public content

    some public-facing text

We use Anthropic's Claude API for limited transformations of content that is already public — never to read or process your private drafts or account data.

  • Life-chapter reflections

    the life-chapter writing flow

The reflective prompts are powered by Google's Gemini. It helps generate the questions that guide your writing — what you write stays yours.

what we don't do

  • No AI writes your stories for you — the words are yours.
  • No third-party advertising or analytics trackers, ever.
  • We don't sell your data.

For the full detail on data handling, see the privacy policy.
