Terms of Service
Effective April 18, 2026 · Governed by the laws of Canada
1. Who We Are
Sheboyggin Productions S.A.R.F. ("we," "us," "our") is the federal Canadian corporation that operates sheboyggin.com (incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act on 2026-02-24). It receives all jigg purchases on the platform, contracts with creators and vendors, and is the counterparty to these Terms.
The platform also hosts the activities of Sheboyggin Stewardship Association ("SSA") — a federal not-for-profit corporation registered 2026-02-06 — which is the community / member body and which intends to apply for charitable registration with the Canada Revenue Agency. Where SSA's own governance or membership rules apply (for example, to community moderation or to the future use of donations), they apply alongside these Terms but do not replace them.
By accessing or using the site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Sheboyggin. If you are under 18, you must have the permission of a parent or legal guardian. By using the site you confirm that you meet these requirements.
We reserve the right to close accounts that we believe belong to minors without parental consent.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Do not share your password. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without notice, at our discretion.
4. Content You Submit
When you post a story, question, answer, artwork, or music ("Content") on Sheboyggin, you keep full ownership of it.
By submitting Content you grant Sheboyggin a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, distribute, and promote that Content on the platform and in materials that describe or market the platform (for example, social media posts or trailers). This license lasts until you delete your Content or close your account, except where the Content has already been incorporated into an episode production (see Section 8).
You confirm that:
- You own or have the right to share the Content.
- Your Content does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, or other rights.
- Your Content complies with our Community Standards (Section 5).
5. Community Standards
The following Content is not permitted on Sheboyggin:
- Content that is hateful, harassing, threatening, or discriminatory.
- Sexual content involving minors.
- Content that promotes illegal activity or violence.
- Spam, scams, or deliberate misinformation.
- Content that infringes a third party's copyright or intellectual property.
- Impersonation of another person or organization.
We may remove any Content that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these standards or is otherwise harmful to the community.
6. Music and Third-Party Content
If you submit music to the platform — whether as a post or as a nomination for an episode production — you confirm that you either:
- Composed and own the music yourself, or
- Have a valid license that permits you to share and license it for community use on Sheboyggin.
Do not upload commercially released music without appropriate licensing. Submissions found to violate copyright will be removed and the nominating account may be suspended. Sheboyggin will respond to valid copyright takedown notices under Canada's Notice-and-Notice regime (Copyright Act, ss. 41.25–41.26).
7. Jiggs — Community Jiggs
Jiggs (J) are Sheboyggin's platform currency. 10 Jiggs = CA$1.00.
Jiggs may be purchased with real currency and are used to support creators and community causes. By purchasing Jiggs you agree to the following:
- Earned Jiggs (from approved stories, winning votes, and other community activity) are convertible to Canadian dollars via the payout process described below. Bought Jiggs (purchased via Stripe checkout) are platform-only and cannot be converted back to cash — see "Refunds and cancellations" below for the limited cases in which unspent bought Jiggs can be refunded.
- Jiggs are non-transferable between accounts.
- We may adjust jigg pricing, exchange rates, or redemption rules with reasonable notice.
- Earned Jiggs and any cash received via payout are subject to income tax in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for reporting and paying any applicable taxes. For substantial payouts we may issue a T4A (Canada) or 1099-NEC (US) and require additional tax identification.
Cashing out Earned Jiggs
To convert Earned Jiggs to cash, complete identity verification via our payment processor (Stripe Connect Express) at /settings/payout and submit a payout request. The minimum payout amount is 1,000 Jiggs (CA$100.00); the maximum per request is 1,000,000 Jiggs (CA$100,000.00).
Each request enters a review queue. Once approved, funds are transferred to your linked bank account via Stripe and typically arrive within 2–5 business days. If a transfer fails for any reason (Stripe rejection, account closure, insufficient platform balance), the held Jiggs are automatically returned to your balance.
We may delay, reduce, or deny payouts if we have a reasonable suspicion of fraud, abuse, chargeback risk, or violation of these Terms — including but not limited to coordinated voting, multiple-account jigg farming, or content that has since been removed for policy violations. In such cases we will explain the reason where we are legally permitted to.
Refunds and cancellations
Jigg purchases are generally non-refundable once Jiggs have been used (spent on votes, gifts, or any other on-platform action), because the value has already been transferred to other users.
However, if you are a Canadian resident, you may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase for any Jiggs that remain unspent in your account. Requests after 14 days, or for already-spent Jiggs, are at our discretion and granted only where required by applicable consumer protection law (including, where applicable, the BC Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act).
To request a refund, email billing@sheboyggin.com from the address on your Sheboyggin account, with the date and amount of purchase. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
If a purchase fails or is duplicated due to a Stripe error, we will refund the affected transaction in full regardless of timing.
8. Episode Productions & the 1/3 Split
When a community story wins enough votes, it may enter an Episode Production. In that process, community members submit art, music, and story interpretations for specific design slots. The community then votes on submissions.
When a submission reaches the vote threshold and is declared a winner:
- 1/3 of the slot's Jigg reward goes to the creator of the winning submission.
- 1/3 goes to the community's chosen charitable cause.
- 1/3 goes to the Sheboyggin production fund, which finances episode development.
By nominating a submission for an episode production slot, you grant Sheboyggin an additional license to incorporate that work into the animated episode — including in promotional materials, releases, and future derivative works — on a perpetual, non-exclusive basis. You retain ownership of your original work and will be credited in the episode.
The original story author similarly retains ownership of their story and will be credited. The episode itself — as a produced audiovisual work — is owned by Sheboyggin.
9. Copyright Takedowns & Illegal-Content Notices
If you believe Content on Sheboyggin infringes your copyright, send a written notice to legal@sheboyggin.com including:
- Your name and contact information.
- A description of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed.
- A link to the allegedly infringing Content on our site.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are the rights owner or authorized to act on their behalf.

10. Our Content
The Sheboyggin name, logo, site design, and any original content produced by us are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our written permission.
11. Disclaimers

We are not liable for Content submitted by users. Views expressed by community members do not represent the views of Sheboyggin.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Canadian law, Sheboyggin's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the platform shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid to Sheboyggin in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) CA$50.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date above and, for significant changes, notify you by email or through a notice on the site. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
