What is the SSA?
The Sheboyggin Stewardship Association is the community body that governs participation on the platform. It is not a legal corporation — it is the living agreement between everyone who chooses to share here.
The SSA exists because Sheboyggin is built on a belief: that stories shared honestly, and received with care, can move people forward. That only works if the people holding the space take it seriously. Members are stewards — of the stories, of each other, and of the culture that makes this possible.
What membership means
By joining the SSA (by creating an account), you agree to steward this space. That means:
- You share what is true — not necessarily every detail, but the emotional truth of your experience.
- You receive other people's stories with the same generosity you'd want for your own.
- You use your votes, jiggs, and presence to signal what matters — not to manipulate or game.
- You recognize that the people behind the stories are real, even when their names aren't shown.
- You don't use this space to harm, exploit, or demean.
The SSA's values
Honesty over performance
We share what actually happened, not what sounds impressive. The platform's signal only works if the input is real.
Anonymity as protection, not permission
Anonymous sharing exists so people can be honest without fear — not so they can be careless with others. Anonymity is a privilege, not a shield.
Recognition as currency
Jiggs, votes, and "me too" responses are how we say: this mattered. Use them intentionally. A jigg is a signal, not a reflex.
Evolution over perfection
We're all figuring this out. The goal isn't to present your best self — it's to grow by sharing your real one.
Stewardship over ownership
You own your story. But once you share it here, it becomes part of something larger. Treat the platform the way you'd want others to treat your story.
What the SSA is not
The SSA is separate from the other entities connected to Sheboyggin:
- Sheboyggin Productions S.A.R.F. — the federal corporation that operates sheboyggin.com commercially: receiving jigg purchases, paying creators and contractors, and producing animated episodes. SSA members participate on the platform, but SSA does not run the platform commercially.
- Sheboyggin This Way To Charity (STWTC) — a future charitable vehicle that does not yet exist as a registered entity. Once charitable status is granted (likely under SSA itself), SSA-collected community input may inform its priorities, but the charitable board will make all funding decisions. Platform activity today is not a charitable donation.
Membership standards
The SSA holds members to a standard of care. Membership may be revoked for:
- Sharing false stories with intent to deceive or manipulate the community.
- Harassment, threats, or targeted harm toward other members.
- Using the platform to promote hatred, illegal activity, or exploitation.
- Gaming the vote or jigg system for personal gain at the community's expense.
- Impersonating another person or organization.
Enforcement decisions rest with the Sheboyggin moderation team. Appeals can be directed to community@sheboyggin.com.
Your voice in the community
The SSA isn't governed by a vote of its members — it's governed by the culture its members create. Every story shared, every question asked, every "me too" clicked shapes what this place becomes.
As the platform grows, we intend to introduce formal community input mechanisms — where member sentiment genuinely informs platform decisions. That structure is being designed with care. Until then, your voice is heard through what you share and what you support.
